Highly Digestible Diet
Just like humans, animals often get upset stomachs for various reasons. When this happens, Dr. Burton sometimes advises to try what we call the "GI Recipe". This highly digesteble diet is easy to make at home and is great for dogs with sensitive stomachs. Plus, dogs generally love it! If Dr. Burton does recommend this for your pet, the recipe is below.
To Cook: cook Cream of Wheat to package directions including salt, or ground beef as directed. Add remaining ingredients to recipe and mix well.
- 1/2 cup Cream of Wheat cooked to make 2 cups OR 1/4 lb. ground beef
- 1 1/2 cups Cottage Cheese
- 1 large egg (hard boiled)
- 3 tsp. Sugar
- 1 tsp. Vegetable oil
